Understanding Energy

The Chinese call it Chi, the Japanese Ki, Indian yogis call it Kundalini, in India they call it Prana, some call it your life force.  Our life force energy comes from the air we breath and the food we eat.  Throughout history energy healing modalities have existed for our  energy that flows throughout the body’s meridians, chakras and organs that is responsible for maintaining optimal health. 

When parts of the energy system break down and they don’t get the vital chi that they need, or they accumulate too much over activity, stress, emotional distress or even pain the system begins to fail. 

Who developed Touch for Health Kinesiology?

 Touch for Health is taught in over 100 countries and was developed by Dr. John Thie.  He utilized Applied Kinesiology and simplified the approach previously developed by Dr. George Goodheart in the 1960’s.

What is Touch for Health Kinesiology? 

Touch for Health Kinesiology is holistic, the approach looks beyond symptoms and does not diagnose or treat disease.  In fact the most important thing about Touch for Health is it is wellness-oriented!  In addition to a conversation that identifies what you would like to focus on, we use muscle testing, sometimes referred to as Acupressure (applying pressure to muscles and examining their resistance to force), to first  determine imbalances and blockages in the bodies energy flow and then corrections are applied to restore balance and flow of energy.  The process itself is fun and interactive and is dependent on your direct participation. 

How can Touch for Health Kinesiology help me?

It can be beneficial in so many ways.  Because it is holistic in nature it stimulates our body’s own healing potential!

How do you work to correct an energy imbalance when doing Touch for Health?

When an imbalance is found in the flow of energy we have different balancing techniques that we can use.  

A few of the corrections include:

      • Tracing the Meridians: With an open palm the hand traces above the body in the direction of the    meridian. 
      • Neurolymphatic Massage Points: Reflex points that are part of the lymphatic system that are rubbed with firm pressure on the front and back of the body for a short time 
      • Neurovascular Holding Points:  With very light pressure, points are held on the head for a short time.
      • Spinal Vertebrae Reflex Technique:  Reflexes located over the spine that are rubbed in an up and down the vertebrae.

 All of the techniques that are used are intended to reduce stress in the body and restore the natural flow of energy.

How will I feel after a Touch for Health Kinesiology energy balance?

Often you feel more energized, and at ease.  Stress and pain you may have been feeling coming into your balance may be reduced or gone in the days following your visit.  While we often feel better right after a session, we continue to feel even better in the days to come.  

You’re encouraged to take note of what you focused on during your visit and to pay attention as you have interactions with others.  Are you seeing benefits and changes in your reactions or feelings, how is your goal developed during your session playing out in day to day life?  Sometimes we leave a visit and don’t think again about what we came for, interestingly it sometimes feels like what we came for is now just gone.

Can Touch for Health replace my doctor?

 No, Touch for Health does not diagnose and is not intended to treat disease or focus on treating symptoms.  It is not intended to replace your doctors or the services they provide to you.  It does provide for you a tool to boost your own healing capabilities.

How many Touch for Health visits will I need?

You can schedule to come once or for as many visits as you would like.  Because Touch for Health can be beneficial in so many ways you may want to schedule for more than one visit, you decide.
